A positive workplace is a basic element that will increase productivity, and bring your company to the top. 1. What is employee motivation?

4.2. Give your employees a purpose (if their role doesn’t have any)

The sense of purpose may come from the work itself, or the challenge that it brings. Maybe it’s the fact that they’re able to help others. Or, maybe it comes from a sense of community with their colleagues.

So, as an employer, you can make them recognize their purpose by just simple questions like asking them “why” they are working here. Or give them a small reward to make them feel their effort is recognized by the company.

4.3. Spread the positive in your work environment

Whether you’re the employee or the employer, you can make a difference by being a positive presence in your workplace. Spreading positivity daily will help motivate employees or your colleagues to start looking on the brighter side of things.

Positivity is powerful because it increases your coping abilities and builds resilience. Everyone will have days when promoting positivity and a positive attitude seem impossible, but it’s important to remember that you have the power to see the good in any situation. Spreading positively will not only strengthen your mindset, but it will help build the mindset of all employees around you.

4.4. Have a break regularly

The truth is facing a problem for three hours straight is rarely productive. Stepping back and taking a moment to recalibrate isn’t just helpful in staying motivated, it’s also important to your health, both physically and mentally.

Sitting all day and working nonstop isn’t good for you as well as your employees, consider taking a short break every hour or two can have a positive effect on both your mind and body, especially for remote employees, who are lonely in their work environment. 4.7. Recognise and reward great work

Employees must understand that their bosses value their efforts. Giving well-deserved praise boosts not just self-esteem but also energy and team spirit.

A recognition platform is a useful tool for recognizing top performers who exemplify your company's ideals. Employees should be supported all year round through team-building activities, wellness programs, secondment possibilities, and EAP services.
